Historical Sketch:
The Committee on Graduate Work was established to supervise all
graduate programs at Mount Holyoke College. It was composed of the
President, administrators, and faculty. Any undergraduate course
taken by a graduate student for credit was approved by the Committee.
The Committee also reviewed theses and approved all degrees awarded
by the College.
Description of Records:
The records contain minutes, agendas, annual reports (1910-1917),
policy statements, proposals from various departments with requirements
for a Master's Degree, lists of graduate students (1961-1963), and
memoranda. Information includes approved requirements for Master's
Programs and opinions of various faculty members regarding specific
students.
