Historical Sketch:
The Committee on the Health Professions was established as a group
of faculty advisors to students. All Mount Holyoke students applying
to medical or vet school had an advisor from the Committee to assist
them with applications and recommendations. The Committee also compared
Mount Holyoke student's success in being accepted into medical school
with other colleges nation wide.
Description of Records:
The records contain lists of MCAT scores from Mount Holyoke Students,
memoranda, information on the National Association of Advisors for
the Health Profession with brochures, lists of Mount Holyoke students
accepted into medical school with their MCAT scores, grade point
averages, major at Mount Holyoke, and advisor's name, agenda, minutes,
statistics on national acceptance rates with qualification of students,
and newspaper and magazine clippings. Various types of information
on specific students is included.
