Historical Sketch:
The Faculty Conference Committee was established in 1925 as a result
of a proposal made by faculty members. The Committee was composed
of six faculty members, each serving a six year term. The Committee
serves as a faculty liaison, bringing concerns before the Board
of Trustees. The Committee holds many meetings each year, and brings
annual reports to Faculty Meeting.
Description of Records:
The records contain annual reports (1941-1990), correspondence,
minutes, agendas, memoranda, lists of College houses, completed
questionnaires, brief histories of the Committee, various publications,
lists of faculty members, and proposed revisions to the Trustee
By-laws. Information includes faculty opinions on college housing,
faculty salaries, student fees, mission statements for the College,
statistics on Mount Holyoke College applicants, accepted students,
and international relations.
