International Relations Program

Historical Sketch:
The International Relations Program was created in 1978 and grew
rapidly into one of the largest majors at Mount Holyoke. It is an
interdisciplinary program which relies primarily on the study of
economics, politics, history, and geography.
Description of Records:
The International Relations Program records contain a poster for
a lecture series on the Middle East and a Mount Holyoke News feature
titled "Focus on International Relations. The bulk of the records
are annual reports dating from 1983/84-1986/87 and 1993/94. These
reports outline program needs, such as, a secretary, another faculty
member, and an increased budget. They contain information on the
Five College International Relations Certificate Program, academic
accomplishments of majors, course development, curriculum gaps,
and statistics on enrollments and number of majors, as well as,
information on events, such as, a student conference on "Technology
and International Affairs."
