Porter Hall
Built in 1897, Porter Hall was designed by C. Putnam Karr and named for Deacon Porter, a trustee during the years 1836-77. Porter was in charge of the buildings for the Board and was Mary Lyon's chief accounting advisor, as well as a good friend. Porter Hall was renovated in 1987, and currently serves as the Weissman Center, which combines the work of the College's Speaking, Arguing, and Writing Program and the Center for Leadership and Public Interest Advocacy .
