Below are resources to support your assignments this semester, they include tools to monitor the news as well as sources to conduct research for your papers:

  • Academic Search Premier * Research database that covers all subjects and includes the full-text of scholarly journal articles
  • Ethnic NewsWatch* An interdisciplinary, bilingual (English and Spanish) and comprehensive full text database of newspapers, magazines and journals from ethnic, minority and native presses
  • AP Multimedia Archive* Photos and audio files from the AP Newswire!
  • Alternative Press Index* Provides citations to nearly 300 alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines that may not be included in other research databases
  • NewsBank* Contains the full-text of local papers: Springfield Union News, Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Worcester Telegram & Gazette)
  • National Newspaper* Coverage of 9 major US newspapers including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, USA TODAY, the Boston Globe, Atlanta Journal/Constitution, Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune (and more!)
  • CNN News Feeds (RSS) Example of a "news feed" from one media source
  • Google News Aggregator Example of a "news aggregator" which draws from multiple media sources
