What is Adaptive Technology?

Adaptive Technology is hardware or software that allows people with disabilities to access and manipulate either print or electronic information. This can mean anything from reading a textbook to participating in an on-line chat room. When electronic information is created and made available, it is important that it be presented in a way that is usable by people who are blind, have low vision or are learning disabled.
