Introduction & Overview

Starting Up Powerpoint

When you first open PowerPoint, you are presented with four choices:

Autocontent Wizard

  • fastest, most efficient method to create a presentation
  • contains suggested content and design
  • start with a wizard-created presentation, then customize

Template

  • then four tabs:
  • General (blank, same as pressing New button on button bar)
  • Presentation Designs (choice of "look and feel"-- color schemes, graphics, tone)
  • Presentations (Content Designs -- suggestions for different types of presentations based on your includes content wizard as first option)
  • Open an existing presentation

Open an Existing Presentation

AutoLayout

When starting a new presentation from Blank Presentation or when inserting a new slide from Insert menu, this AutoLayout box appears. Choose an appropriate layout. Click on different options to see what they represent. In this example the first option on the top row is selected and Title Slide displays on the lower left side.
