<BR><BR><B>MANCHESTER, Conn. (Sept. 6, 2008) -</B> The Mount Holyoke College women's cross country team kicked off its 2008 campaign with a tenth place showing this morning at the Trinity College Invitational. Tufts University took first place overall at the event, which took place at Wickham Park. The Jumbos were followed by Stonehill College and Keene State College in the 14-squad field.<BR><BR>Stephanie McNamara of Tufts finished the 4,000 meter course in 16:31 to claim top individual honors. Rounding out the top three were Lyra Clark (16:52) of the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Elizabeth Foster (6:29) of the University of Hartford.<BR><BR>A total of 175 runners competed in the race. Among those, four Mount Holyoke runners placed in the top 100. Leading the way was sophomore <B>Rebecca Engell</B>, whose time of 18:19 was good for 37th place overall. Senior <B>Jessamyn Rising</B> crossed the line in 18:53 to take 57th place. Meanwhile, first year <B>Allie Lane</B> finished 68th (19:08), and senior <B>Anna Zimmerman</B> collected 93rd place (19:56).<BR><BR>The Lyons will return to action next Saturday at the Smith College Invitational beginning at 11:00 a.m.
