2008-09 Year in Review
Over the past 12 months, Mount Holyoke's 14 varsity athletic teams have produced memories that will last for a lifetime.
2008-09 Highlights and Achievements
The riding team qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships, taking sixth place overall. Meanwhile, the crew team captured their second straight Seven Sisters title, and their longtime head coach, Jeanne Friedman, was inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. The squash team took top honors at the Seven Sisters Championship for the third year in a row and matched a program record by finishing as the 11th ranked squad in the nation. Their top player, senior Pamela Anckermann, became the first player in school history to earn the prestigious Betty Richey Award, which is handed out annually to the best all around senior collegiate squash player in the nation. Senior Lisa Nash, a member of the College's swimming and diving team, was chosen to receive the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) Administrator of Tomorrow Award. Crew team senior Sarah Gray earned the prestigious Alumnae Association Scholar-Athlete Award.
