Center and Gray Split "Lyon of the Week" Award

Senior crew team members Elissa Center and Sarah Gray have earned a share of the "Lyon of the Week" award for the week of September 29 - October 5. The crew team kicked off its 2008-09 season at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta on Sunday. Center and Gray took home first place with a time of 20:36.7500 in the open double event to highlight the day for the Lyons. They were also members of Mount Holyoke's varsity eight boat, which grabbed fourth place in its race with a time of 17:47.4467. Among the ten Division III participants, the team finished third. It defeated New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Smith College.
