


<p><font size=4><span class=pagetitle>Lacrosse Claims IWLCA Academic Accolades</span></font></p>

<p><strong>﻿SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Sept. 10, 2009)</strong> &ndash; The Intercollegiate Women&rsquo;s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently announced that the Mount Holyoke College lacrosse team earned Academic Squad honors for the 2009 season. A total of 62 NCAA Division III teams qualified for the distinction by posting a collective grade point average of 3.0 or greater.</p>
<p>In addition to naming its Academic Squads, the IWLCA also revealed its Academic Honor Roll. A total of 407 student-athletes from 152 institutions were recognized by the organization for their excellence in the classroom. To be eligible a student-athlete must have at least junior year status and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the spring semester.</p>
<p>Mount Holyoke was represented on the list by senior <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/lacrosse/19072.shtml">Ava Gottschall</a></strong> and junior <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/lacrosse/19081.shtml">Rachel Kurzweil</a></strong>.Gottschall was also honored at the conclusion of her junior campaign.</p>
