With the pealing of the College bells for five minutes at 7 am this morning President Joanne V. Creighton has declared today this year's Mountain Day, an academic holiday at the College. Mountain Day is the College’s oldest tradition, dating back to 1838, one year after the College's founding.

Members of the Mount Holyoke community are invited to scale to the Summit House atop Mount Holyoke for ice cream with the President at noon. Ice cream and pie will be served on campus outside Blanchard Campus Center from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
