<p><strong>SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Jan. 31, 2009)</strong> &ndash; For the third consecutive season, the Mount Holyoke College women&rsquo;s squash team grabbed top honors at the Seven Sisters Championship. After racing to a 9-0 victory over Smith College in the semifinals, the Lyons picked up a 9-0 triumph over Vassar College in the championship. This year&rsquo;s tournament took place in the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex on the campus of Mount Holyoke.</p>
<p>Vassar advanced to the title match by way of a 9-0 semifinal win over Wellesley. The Brewers finished as the runner up for the third year in a row. In the third place match, Smith upended Wellesley 6-3.</p>

<p>Nine members of Mount Holyoke&rsquo;s squad earned All-Tournament team accolades after posting perfect 2-0 marks at their respective positions. From number one through number nine, the group included <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17468.shtml">Pamela Anckermann</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17470.shtml">Vidushi Gurunada</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17476.shtml">Laura Robinson</a></strong>, <a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/21398.shtml"><strong>Shara Robertson</strong></a>, <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17475.shtml">Laurian Lue Yen</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17471.shtml">Menusha Hettiarachchi</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/21399.shtml">Paulina Rojek</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17473.shtml">Kasia Kolodziejczak </a></strong>and <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17472.shtml">Lila Khan</a></strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Semifinal Match #1 - Mount Holyoke vs. Smith (<a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/stats08/sevensisters/sqsmimhc.htm">match statistics</a>)</strong></p>
<p>In the first semifinal match of the day, Mount Holyoke cruised to a 9-0 victory over Smith. The Lyons dropped just 15 points en route to their seventh straight win over the Pioneers. Leading the way for the hosts were <a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17476.shtml"><strong>Laura Robinson</strong></a>, <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17475.shtml">Laurian Lue Yen</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17471.shtml">Mensuha Hettiarachchi</a></strong>, who were each perfect in their matches at the numbers three, five and six slots, respectively.</p>
<p><strong>Semifinal Match #2 - Vassar vs. Wellesley (<a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/stats08/sevensisters/sqwelvas.htm">match statistics</a>)</strong></p>
<p>Vassar sprinted past Wellesley College 9-0 in the second semifinal contest of the day. The Brewers were paced by Eleanor Weiss and Margaret Taylor, who recorded wins at the numbers two and five positions, respectively. Both players posted perfect scores in their matches.</p>
<p><strong>Third Place Match &ndash; Wellesley vs. Smith (<a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/stats08/sevensisters/sqsmiwel.htm">match statistics</a>)</strong></p>
<p>Smith picked up a&nbsp;6-3 victory over a shorthanded Wellesley team in the third place match. One of Wellesley&rsquo;s&nbsp;three wins came from Andrea Mui, who edged Shanita Williams in five games at the number one position. Smith returned the favor at the number two slot, where Jess MacLeod downed Ashley Stevens in five games.<br />

<p>For the fourth year in a row, Mount Holyoke and Vassar met in the Seven Sisters Championship. After dropping one match in 2007 and two in 2008, the Lyons breezed to a 9-0 triumph in 2009. <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17473.shtml">Kasia Kolodziejczak</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/squash/17472.shtml">Lila Khan</a></strong> were perfect in their wins at the numbers eight and nine positions, respectively. <br />
