<p><strong>NEW LONDON, Conn. (April 8, 2009)</strong> &ndash; Junior attacker Sara Christopher erupted for four goals and four assists, as the Connecticut College women&rsquo;s lacrosse team coasted to a 19-2 victory over non-conference foe Mount Holyoke College this afternoon at Silfen Field. Both teams are now 3-7 on the year.</p>
<p>The Camels finished with advantages in shots (35-17), ground balls (23-18) and draw controls (13-10). First year midfielder Hope Barone matched Christopher with four goals. Meanwhile, classmate Ali Iovanella found the net three times and dished out a pair of helpers.</p>
<p>Senior midfielder <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/lacrosse/19072.shtml">Ava Gottschall</a></strong> and first year midfielder <strong>Hilary Bombard</strong> registered one tally apiece for the Lyons, who suffered their fifth straight setback after opening the season with an overall record of 3-2.</p>
<p>With the contest tied up at 1-1 in the early going, Connecticut College rallied for seven straight goals to break things open. The hosts led 10-2 at the break and outscored Mount Holyoke 9-0 in the second half. They finished the contest with 11 consecutive tallies.<br />

First year goalkeeper Ashleigh Kowtoniuk got the start between the pipes for the Camels. She made ten saves in the first half before giving way to sophomore Rachel Nelson, who turned away four shots in the second stanza. Sophomore <strong>Missy Hartley</strong> came up with four stops in 38 minutes played for the guests. She, was relieved by first year <strong>Jeanmarie Peterson</strong>, who played the final 22 minutes.</p>
<p>Mount Holyoke (3-7, 0-2 NEWMAC) will resume its New England Women&rsquo;s and Men&rsquo;s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) slate on Saturday, when it travels to Wellesley College at 1:00 p.m.</p>
