Outdoor Track and Field Participates in Eastern Connecticut State Invitational
MANSFIELD, Conn. (April 11, 2009) – The Mount Holyoke College women’s outdoor track and field team competed in the Eastern Connecticut State College Invitational in Mansfield, Connecticut today. Smith College and Colby-Sawyer College also took part in the non-scoring meet.
A pair of Lyons captured top honors in their respective races. First year Courtney Carrier won the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 1:13.07. Meanwhile Jessica Brezicha matched the feat in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 10.48.
Sophomore Hannah DiCocco grabbed sixth place in the 1,500-meter run. Her time of 5:38.00 was a personal record.
Rounding things out for Mount Holyoke was first year Bree Ligon-Hollinger, who recorded a third place result in the high jump (4’8”).
The Lyons will return to action next weekend, when they participate in the Aloha Relays. Bowdoin College will serve as host of the event, which begins on Friday and concludes on Saturday.
