Elson Earns NGCA All-American Scholar Honors

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (July 1, 2009) – Mount Holyoke College golfer Martha Elson was recently selected to the 2008-09 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team. It was the third time that the senior earned the honor. She was also recognized as a first year and as a sophomore.

Criteria for the award include a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and participation in at least 66% of the team's contests. A total of 410 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Divisions I, II and III were recognized by the NGCA this year.

Elson participated in all 11 of the Lyons competitions this year. Her top performance of the season came at the Mount Holyoke Invitational, where she finished ninth with a two day score of 163 (81, 82).
