


<p><font size=4><span class=pagetitle>Field Hockey Blanks Wilson at Seven Sisters</span></font></p>

<p><strong>BRYN MAWR, Pa. (Sept. 20, 2009)</strong> &ndash; The Mount Holyoke College field hockey team used a late rally to secure a 2-0 victory over Wilson College this afternoon at the 25th Seven Sisters Classic. With the win, the Lyons closed out the tournament with a perfect mark of 2-0. It was the fourth time in a row that they have posted a shutout win in a Seven Sisters contest.</p>
<p>Both teams went scoreless until the 56:26 mark, when senior forward <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/fhockey/16561.shtml">Mary Kate Switchenko</a></strong> redirected a shot by sophomore defender <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/fhockey/20622.shtml">Tricia Chase</a></strong>&nbsp;past Wilson (0-6) senior goalkeeper Nikola Grafnetterova for what proved to be the match winner.</p>
<p>Senior forward <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/fhockey/16563.shtml">Katelyn Frick</a></strong> then sealed things for the Lyons in the 68th minute, scoring her second goal in as many days on a penalty stroke.</p>
<p>Mount Holyoke outshot the Phoenix 27-6 and finished with a 21-9 edge in penalty corner chances. Sophomore goalkeeper <strong><a href="http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/varsity/fhockey/20600.shtml">Katie Gibson</a></strong> made six saves en to her third career shutout. At the other end, Grafnetterova registered 23 stops.</p>
<p>In today&rsquo;s other matches, Wellesley College routed host Bryn Mawr College 13-1 and Vassar College edged Smith College 1-0. In addition to Mount Holyoke, Wellesley ended the weekend with a record of 2-0. Vassar and Smith went 1-1, while Bryn Mawr and Wilson each went 0-2.</p>
<p>Frick and Chase were both named to the All-Classic Team.</p>
<p>The Lyons (3-1, 0-0 NEWMAC) are slated to kick off their home slate on Tuesday versus Western New England College at 5:00 p.m.</p>
