"Lyon of the Week" Award Goes to Irish

Alexandra Irish has been named “Lyon of the Week” for the week of September 28-October 4. The sophomore helped the golf team to a third place finish at the Middlebury College Invitational over the weekend. Irish was at her best on Saturday, when needed just 76 strokes to complete the first round. She entered the second and final day of competition tied with Amherst College's Hayley Milbourn atop the individual standings. Irish then fired an 82 on Sunday to secure fifth place overall. Her two day total of 158 was just six shots off the pace of Milbourn, who earned medalist honors.
