Christine Chancy Garners "Lyon of the Week" Accolades
First year basketball player Christine Chancy has been named “Lyon of the Week” for the week of January 19-25. Chancy averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in a perfect 2-0 week for Mount Holyoke. The point guard converted 42.1% (8-19) of her shots from the field and 91.7% (11-12) of her free throw attempts. She finished the week with three assists, and six steals. Chancy was at her best in a 64-54 triumph over the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday, when she converted all ten of her attempts from the free throw stripe en route to a season best 16 points. The rookie also grabbed ten rebounds to complete her fourth double-double of the season. In the Lyons 47-36 win over the Coast Guard Academy on Wednesday, Chancy came off the bench to record 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. She added three rebounds and two steals in the contest.
