


<p><font size=4><span class=pagetitle>Anckermann and Hettiarachchi Fare Well at WSCA Invidiuals</span></font></p>

<p>PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (March 4, 2007) - Two Mount Holyoke Squash Players competed in the WCSA Individual Championships this past weekend, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. </p>

<p>Sophomore Pam Anckermann lost both of her matches to competitors from game, 3-0 (6-9, 1-9, 3-9 and 3-9, 7-9, 1-9). Despite her unfortunate lossses, Anckermann fininshed among the top 30 women squash players in America. Sophomore Menusha Hettiarachchi competed in the Holleran Cup. She defeated Victoria Barba of Tufts, 3-0 (9-5, 9-2, 9-0) in the first round. However, Hettiarachchi suffered a close 2-3 defeat to an opponent from Middlebury (4-9, 6-9, 9-4, 9-6, 5-9) and a 1-3 lost against a player from Cornell in the double-elimination bracket. Hettiarachchi's impressive performanced this weekend earned her a place among the top 50  women squash players in the country.  </p>
