


<p><font size=4><span class=pagetitle>Indoor Track & Field Competes in Smith Winter Classic</span></font></p>

<B>NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (Dec. 8, 2007) -</B> Several members of the Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team posted outstanding individual performances at the non-scoring Smith College Winter Classic today. Leading the way for the Lyons was senior <B>Halaina Demba (Harvard, Mass./Bromfield)</B>, who took top honors in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:12.06. 
<BR><BR>
Senior <B>Grace Zeigler (Oak Hill, Ill./Neuqua Valley)</B> finished third in the long jump (4.86 meters), while classmates <B>Caroline Gillaspie (Athens, N.Y./Coxsackie-Athens)</B> and <B>Charisse Pickron (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional)</B> earned fourth place finishes in the high jump (4'4") and shot put (30'11"), respectively.
<BR><BR>
First year <B>Tracy Etkins</B> established a new personal record with her time of 8.15 seconds in the 55-meter dash. Meanwhile, classmate <B>Amanda Noumoff</B> completed the 200-meter dash in 29.72 seconds to take seventh place overall.
<BR><BR>
Rounding things out for the Lyons was sophomore <B>Crystal Boateng</B>, who recorded an eight place showing in the 400-meter dash. Her time of 1:06.19 was more than six seconds faster than per previous personal record. It was also the best finish for a Mount Holyoke runner in the event this season.
<BR><BR>
Mount Holyoke will be off until Friday, January 11, 2008, when it competes in the Dartmouth College Relays. The event is scheduled to conclude the following day.
