Cornell Trips Up Squash in Howe Cup Semifinals, 8-1

PRINCETON, N.J. (Feb. 23, 2008) - The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team fell 8-1 to Cornell University in the semifinal round of the 2008 Howe Cup National Championships today at Princeton University. With their second win of the season over the Lyons, the Big Red catapulted themselves into the tournament's "B Division" title match. They will face off against Williams College tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

Williams moved on by way of a 9-0 win over Bates College in the other semifinal tilt. Mount Holyoke and Bates will meet up in the consolation contest tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. In one previous meeting this season, the Lyons came out on top 5-4.

Junior Pamela Ankermann (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Monte Alto) was Mount Holyoke's lone winner at the number one slot.
