Students Adapt Macbeth for Mount Holyoke Posted: November 6, 2007 Friday, November 9, and Saturday, November 10, the Mount Holyoke College student-run organization PROJECT: Theatre, with the support of the Department of Theatre Arts, will present Shakespeare's Macbeth. The show begins at 8 pm both nights in Chapin Auditorium, Mary Woolley Hall. A special midnight performance will also take place in Chapin Friday beginning at 11:45 pm. Macbeth has been called Shakespeare's greatest tragedy. It is a bloody tale of ambition and the supernatural that has been reinterpreted by student director Kylie McCormick '08 to reveal the inner thoughts and realities of each character. "I chose to do MacBeth because it is my favorite Shakespeare tragedy, and I wanted to exploit the concept of the haunting presence of the dead," McCormick said. This Macbeth is played by an all-female cast. PROJECT: Theatre is Mount Holyoke College's self-proclaimed revolutionary theatre group with the goal of encouraging the entire artistic college community to participate in building productions and theatrical endeavors in and around campus. Please be warned that this show is extremely violent and not suitable for young persons. To reserve tickets, email ptboxoffice@gmail.com with the number of tickets, date, and time of the desired showing. Related Link: MHC Featured Events This notice expired on November 10, 2007.
