Docents
 An
active corps of volunteer docents is important to the museum's
efforts to serve its diverse constituencies. Besides providing
tours of the museum's permanent collection and special exhibitions,
these volunteers offer educational initiatives to school children.
We need more volunteers,
especially docents to work with our most popular school
program that focuses on daily life in the ancient world. Using
objects in the museum's ancient collection, docents help students
understand how a Greek drinking vessel or an Egyptian funerary
statuette can advance knowledge of earlier cultures.
