Ciruti Center for Foreign Languages
A state-of-the-art facility, the Ciruti Center provides groundbreaking
methods of language instruction. Its three levels of classrooms
and laboratory spaces enable instructors to integrate classroom
teaching with outside learning activities employing interactive
video stations, computers, and audio and video equipment. Students
may utilize self-paced programs that are culturally and linguistically
authentic and that allow them to view television news and other
programs beamed via satellite from all over the world.
Ciruti began as a building used for dining services but in 1989
was converted into the Language Learning Center, centralizing the
language courses and facilities. In 1992, the center was renamed
the Joan E. Ciruti Center for Foreign Languages to honor a Spanish
professor for her 29 years of service to the College.
