Electrical
The
Electrical Department is fully licensed and responsible for the
maintenance, renovation, construction and installation of all the
campus electrical systems. These systems include primary (4160 volt)
and secondary systems; building services; emergency systems, fire
protection systems, motor controls and data/telecommunications wiring.
As
an independent and fully functioning department we utilize up-to-date
equipment including a bucket truck with a 30' telescoping boom.
We handle over 1000 service requests per year, which can range from
replacing a blown high voltage cable to running sound systems and
hanging banners. Often times we find ourselves assisting students
or faculty in their academic activities.
Every
year this department takes on a couple of major renovations such
as dorm/building upgrades or the installation of new fire alarm
systems. Preventive maintenance and bringing the college systems
up to energy efficient standards are always a priority.
