Hazardous Trees on the MHC
Campus
Happily this winter we have only a few trees that need to be removed. A
pin oak south of Brigham was shown to be hollow when tested with
a resistograph. Two hemlocks west of Torrey parking lot have
died due to the hemlock woolly adelgid pest.
All three trees will be removed during spring break for safety
reasons: there are fewer people moving around campus. As
well, it is easier to block off areas, such as the space around
the pin oak on the road around Skinner Green.
