Summer Housing Resources

Here are some resources to get you started with your summer housing search. The next step for you is to make a few phone calls, see which ones have space available and do some visiting. We strongly urge you to personally see the house before you sign a contract or make a commitment. Most houses/apartments require a deposit before they will enter into a contract with you, so keep that in mind. Summer rentals are an agreement between you, the renter, and the agency or property owner. Mount Holyoke College is responsible for summer housing arrangements you make as a result of consulting these resources.

Boston

• www.suffolk.edu/offices/886.html: Our facilities are located on historic Beacon Hill close to the Massachusetts State House. Our air-conditioned 150 Tremont Street 11-story residence hall (below) overlooks Boston Common and features incredible views of the Boston skyline.
• http://www.bu.edu/housing/summer/apply/: On-campus housing is available during the summer to full-time matriculating Boston University students, students registered for Boston University Summer Term courses, and students enrolled in a Boston University recognized special summer program.

New York City

• www.websterapartments.org/: Offers opportunity for short term stays (min. 3 days). Also offers accommodations for weekly rates (4 week minimum stay.)
• www.dehirsch.com/: Offers short stay room for reasonable prices.
• www.ihouse-nyc.org/: International House is open to those who are at least 21 years old, and affiliated with an educational or professional institution as a full-time graduate student, intern, trainee, visiting scholar or visiting researcher. (MUST FILL OUT APPLICATION.)
• www.summersubletsnyc.com/: Offers summer short-term stay for students.
• www.nyu.edu/housing/summer/: Offers information on how to apply for summer housing at NYU.
• www.columbia.edu/cu/reshalls/summerhsg/intern-nycwork/: Information and application to apply for summer housing at Columbia. Must be at least 18 years old.

Wasington D.C.

• http://gwired.gwu.edu/summer: Offers information and application for summer housing provided by George Washington University. (When applying have credit card ready, because there is a 50% deposit for the application.)

• http://internsdc.com/housing.html: WISH housing is found at a number of Capitol Hill locations that make it easy for students to access the excitement and charm of life in Washington, DC. WISH offers two basic living arrangements: apartment-style or townhomes.
