Internship Requirements

In order to receive internship funding from the CDC, you will need to meet these requirements:

Time commitment recommendations:

  • Summer: 240 hours of work, usually 30 to 40 hours per week, and a minimum of 6-12 weeks and is completed successfully.
  • Semester: 120 hours of work (an average of 10 hours a week).
  • January: 13 working days (5-8 hours a day) over the three weeks of January term.

By the start of the internship registration period:

  • You must submit a Student Confirmation Form, which includes learning goals for the internship that have been agreed upon with your site supervisor, to the CDC.
  • Your sponsor must submit a Sponsor Confirmation Form, which includes a description of the internship, to the CDC.

At the conclusion of the internship:

  • You must submit an Informational Interview and a Final Report of your experience to the CDC.
  • Your sponsor must submit a Sponsor Evaluation Form to the CDC. This evaluation becomes a part of your credential file at the CDC.

Meeting deadlines:

  • You are responsible for ensuring that your forms and reports are received at the CDC by the deadline.
  • You should encourage your sponsor to submit the Sponsor Evaluation Form to the CDC.

In addition, as a Mount Holyoke intern you are representing the College and are expected to conduct yourself professionally at all times.
