A Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN) website with links to web sites on specific career fields, of interest to liberal arts students such as International Employment, Marine Science, and Performing Arts. Each web site includes general background information, publications listings, associations, advice from field veterans, graduate programs descriptions, and internship and job postings.
CareerSearch
An employment database containing several million profiles of employers from various sectors of the business/academic world. Search this database by industry, geographic location, and key word. Information includes key contact names within the companies/organizations, web site addresses, and brief business overviews. There are two "seats" available on-campus at any one time. If you find you cannot log on, keep trying as one of the two seats will become available shortly. To do so, you will need to "create an account" and go through the steps asked.
Internships-USA
An extensive database of approximately 2,300 companies/organizations that offer domestic internships. Browse through the internship listings by categories such as the Top Fortune 500 Companies, Media, Sports, and others. Detailed listings of internships include the organization and internship descriptions, contact person and information, website links, desired majors, experiences offered, application deadlines and materials required, and stipend. Vault Online Career Library
An employment database that offers content on employers and career related information. Vault provides students with industry and career guidebooks that can be downloaded. The site also includes occupational profiles, industry overviews, employer profiles, and much more.
Ferguson's Facts on File Career Guidance Center
This database profiles more than 2,000 of today's most exciting jobs in more than 90 industries. Fully searchable and extensively hyperlinked, it contains in-depth job descriptions complete with job-specific resource listings, detailed industry descriptions, career resources, career preparation information (including scholarships, academic programs, and non-academic programs), and web resources. |
