For Faculty
Faculty members can be a source of wisdom to help students clarify their values and interests, build confidence in their capabilities, and make connections outside of the Mount Holyoke community.
The CDC provides resources and support to members of the faculty who are advising students, writing letters of recommendation, creating student positions for research projects, or otherwise engaging in career-related activities with students.
We complement academic advising. Encourage students to take the Self Assessment exercise, which can help them think through their academic goals before they meet with you.
We can provide outcomes data on what your graduates go on to do. This information includes career fields (aggregate and individual organizations), and graduate and professional school.
We help you with recommendations (PDF).
We can collaborate with you. Let us know of any effort that you are undertaking that will help students take their major beyond the classroom (e.g. panels, undergraduate research, conferences, etc.). Call us at x2080.
We are a clearinghouse of opportunities. Send us relevant information on specific internships, fellowships and scholarships, research opportunities, jobs, and graduate and professional school via campus mail or email to cdc@mtholyoke.edu
We connect your students to resources. When students sign up with LyonNet they receive critical career related updates regarding workshops, internships, recruiting, fellowships and scholarships, and graduate school programs.
