It's important to have a timeline for career planning during your four years at college. By setting yourself goals and deadlines for career exploration, internship search, job search, and graduate school applications, you can ensure that you are prepared for life after college when you graduate.

YourPlan is Mount Holyoke's career planning tool. It is a personalized timeline for your four years at college with recommended steps in your career path and links for more information about these. YourPlan is separated into recommended steps for each class year.

• Attend Sophomore Orientation early in the Fall semester
• Create a resume; attend a resume writing workshop and have a Peer Career Advisor or a career counselor review your resume
• Explore majors and minors by taking a variety of courses
• Talk with faculty about careers linked to different majors
• Complete a self assessment to clarify your goals, skills, and interests for internships or summer jobs
• Become active in a campus club that is related to  your interests
• Learn about summer internships; attend an internship workshop
• See a career counselor to discuss internship search and plans
• Establish 3 networking contacts through alums, family, and friends
• Research opportunities abroad for during the school year and summer
• Attend company information sessions to explore a variety of career  fields
• Explore fellowship opportunities for life after Mount Holyoke
