Pugh Grants
Wilma J. Pugh Grants is for juniors who are History majors. Established by Wilma J. Pugh, a Professor Emeritus in the Department who died in 2002, as well as by her nephew, Emerson Pugh, these grants are intended to enable a student or students to undertake an independent project in history during the senior year. The size of the grant has varied from year to year, but recent awards have ranged between $1000 and $2500.
To apply for these funds, use the Universal Application Form. All history majors or minos who apply using the Universal Applicaiton form will be considered for Pugh funding (and may also be further supplemented by other College funds). For more information on the Pugh grants, contact faculty in the History Department.
