The Department of Economics encourages economics majors to apply for the Jamie Baxter and Helen Monchow Scholarships. The Monchow Fund provides financial support for either a research project or an internship. The Baxter Fund subsidizes internships. Average awards in the past for either scholarship have been in the range of $1,000.  At the discretion of the Department of Economics, student requests may be passed along to the Summer Opportunities committee for consideration of additional funding.
