Glee Club Auditions "Singing [with Glee Club and Chamber Singers] was by far the highlight of my college experience," wrote an alumna from the class of 1991 to Glee Club director Cathy Melhorn recently. Auditions for Glee Club will be held Wednesday, January 29, from 4 to 6 pm and Thursday, January 30, from 4 to 6 pm in room 302 of Pratt Hall. Interested students should sign up for a time on the ensembles board across from the music office in Pratt Hall.

Gorse Child Study Center Openings
Gorse has openings in half-day nursery school and kindergarten programs for three-, four-, and five-year-old children for the 2003–2004 school year. If you are interested, call x2039 by February 25.

Notice to Students Interested in Student Teaching in Spring 2004 All students planning to student teach during spring 2004 (early childhood, elementary, middle or secondary levels) should pick up an application packet from Gayle Higgins at Reese Psychology and Education Building in room in 303, if they have not received one in the mail. Completed applications are due to Gayle Higgins by February 15. If you have questions regarding teacher preparation programs, call Gayle Higgins at x2844 Monday through Friday, 1–5 pm; Bev Bell (middle and secondary) at x3300; or Lenore Carlisle (early childhood and elementary) at x2189.

Flute Choir Students interested in flute choir should come to the first rehearsal Tuesday, February 4, at 6:30 pm in the Warbeke Room in Pratt Hall.

Music Anyone? Students taking music lessons for the first time at Mount Holyoke or who wish to enroll in Chamber Music, Jazz Ensembles, or Klezmer Band are required to audition. Auditions will be held on Friday, January 31, in Pratt from 1 to 3 pm. Students should call x2306 for an audition appointment.

Orchestra and Concert Choir Auditions Concert Choir will hold an open rehearsal on Wednesday, January 29, at 7:15 pm in McCulloch Auditorium in Pratt Hall. Auditions for Orchestra and Concert Choir will be held on Thursday evening, January 30; Friday afternoon, January 31; and Sunday afternoon, February 2. Students should sign up for an audition time and obtain audition information on the ensembles bulletin board across from the music office.

Grant-in-Aid for Music Lessons Students who receive financial aid from MHC are eligible to apply for grant-in-aid to help pay for music lessons. Applications are available in the music office and must be submitted by Friday, January 31, at 4 pm. Students must apply for grant-in-aid every semester. There are no automatic renewals.

Music 100 Exemption Exam Students enrolled in performance study must fulfill the Music 100 requirement within the first two semesters of performance study either by exempting the exam or by the taking the Music 100 course. The Music 100 exemption exam will be given on Friday, January 31, at 3 pm in room 109 of Pratt Hall.
