Uri Treisman, a professor of mathematics and executive director of the Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas at Austin, will speak at Mount Holyoke on February 21 at 7:30 pm in Gamble Auditorium. Treisman is highly regarded for his work fostering high achievement in mathematics among minority students, for which he received a MacArthur Fellowship in 1992. In December 1999, he was named as one of the outstanding leaders of higher education in the twentieth century by the magazine Black Issues in Higher Education. more>
