The Vagina Monologues The Mount Holyoke
chapter of the national V-Day College Campaign presents The
Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler, directed by Lori Feldstein.
This is Mount Holyoke’s fifth year participating in V-Day,
which raises money and increases awareness about violence against
women; last year’s proceeds were donated to Womanshelter/
Compañeras. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, $7

Five College Outdoor Festival and Lecture Jan Reynolds
will speak about her experiences with the development of China’s
Olympic skiers and her world-record descent of a 25,000-foot peak
on a National Geographic expedition, to kick off the weeklong
Five College Outdoor Festival at Hampshire College. Most events
are held at Hampshire College, culminating with all-day climbing
instruction and a charity competition on Hampshire's climbing
wall, kayak training in the pool, and films from the Telluride

“Cloning and Embryonic Stem Cells: Controversy and Reality”
Lecture by James M. Robl, Ph.D., president and chief
scientific officer, Hematech. Robl, who collaborated on production
of the first cloned cattle from embryonic cells, established a
first-class laboratory for research on the mechanisms of early
mammalian development at the University of Massachusetts. He is
the author of more than 100 research papers, review articles,
book chapters, and scientific abstracts and the inventor of six
issued patents and more than 20 patent applications. This is the
keynote lecture of the Weissman Center’s spring series The
Political Embryo: Reconceiving Human Reproduction. Gamble

“Queer Sex: Criminalization in the Bahamas and a
Legal Rights Strategy of Resistance” Lecture by
Kreimild Saunders, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, on the
moral panic and criminalization campaigns against “sissiness,”
“funniness,” and cross-generational sex that resulted
in new legislation with heavy penalties for lesbianism and male
homosexuality in the Bahamas. Five College Women’s Studies
