Women Entrepreneurs Visit Mount Holyoke February 28
Tn Saturday, February 28, the Mount Holyoke
Leadership and Career Mentoring Network will present “Women
Entrepreneurs: Personal Destiny and Leading Change.”
The event will give students the opportunity to meet and learn
from outstanding women entrepreneurs in business and nonprofit
organizations.
Network founder Analisa Balares ’99, a student at Harvard Business School,
helped coordinate the event. Speakers will include Maria Cirino ’85, founder
and CEO of Guardent, a computer security company; Paige Arnof-Fenn, founder and
CEO of Mavens & Moguls, a leading marketing strategy consulting firm; Genet
JeanJean FP ’97, founder and director of BusinesSpeak, a language and communications
training company in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and Kristen Porter, executive director
of Pathways to Wellness, a nonprofit public health clinic, and founder of Dyke
Night Productions, an events production company catering to the lesbian and gay
community.
The event, which is cosponsored by the Weissman Center for Leadership and the
Liberal Arts, the Career Development Center, and the Office of the Deans, will
help students learn about the meaning and power of entrepreneurship as well as
the nuts and bolts of successful entrepreneurships. Speakers will discuss how
to build successful for-profit and nonprofit organizations, as well as how to
finance a first venture, grow organizations, and build teams.
The event will take place in Room 101, Dwight Hall from 1 pm
