Make a Difference: Nominate a High School Student for
Take the Lead

Take the Lead, the College's program for high school women that was launched last fall, will be offered again October 11 through 14, 2001. Mount Holyoke is currently seeking nominations of bright, spirited young women who want to make a positive difference in the world. The forty participants chosen will attend workshops and activities focusing on building leadership skills.
Members of the MHC community are invited to nominate up to three individuals who are now in their sophomore year of high school. President Joanne Creighton will write each nominee a letter of congratulations and invite her to apply. A nomination form was sent last week to faculty, staff, and students. Nominations can also be submitted electronically at www.mtholyoke.edu/go/takethelead. Nominations, which should be sent to Maryann Reno in the Office of Communications, are due March 30, 2001.
Take the Lead enriches not only the high school students who attend but also the Mount Holyoke students who serve as mentors. It also enhances the College's reputation as an institution at the forefront of developing dynamic, civic-minded leaders.
