EMotion:
MHC Spring Student Dance Concert

|
Allow yourself to be transformed
by an evening of student choreographic premieres, motion inspired
by emotion. The program includes 11 pieces of original choreography
by Mount Holyoke students, performed by 26 dancers from the Five
Colleges. One of the works, “Tenebrae,” choreography
by Mora Cantlin ’05 and Marlena Hubley ‘06, was honored
at the 2004 New England American College Dance Festival Association.
Other pieces being presented include Kara Johnson’s contemporary
solo set to “St. Louis Blues,” a duet by Angelique
Rivera ’06 and Taela Brooks inspired by the rhythms of
Haitian Vodou drumming, a jazzy hip-hop number by Kate Jubinville ’05,
and a balletic quartet choreographed by Kathleen Long ’04
entitled “I Can’t Help Myself.” Works by Abigail
Daane ’04, Loren Robertson ’06, Felisa Ver ’06,
Abigail Watson ’05, Jessica Wright ’06, and Helen
Yetter ’07 complete the evening.
Reservations are recommended and may be made at
dance-reservations@mtholyoke.edu or by calling 538-2848. Tickets are $5 for general
