Students can beat the
September rush for work-study positions by applying for on- and
off-campus jobs this month. The annual student job fair will be held
April 10 - 12, from 9 am to 5 pm each day, in the Career Development
Center's resource library. All students eligible for financial aid
are welcome to look over the list of openings and apply for jobs. Job
listings, with information on each position's responsibilities,
requirements, and supervisors, will be available at a bank of
computers in the resource library. Staff and student workers
from the CDC, which oversees the student employment system, will be
on hand to help students learn how to use the computerized
job-listing system. Those who already know how to use it can also get
access to the listings (starting at 9 am on April 10) from any
computer on campus where they can access their email. Instructions
can be found in the student employment section of the CDC Web site. To apply for a job, students
will fill out an application form (available at the CDC) and submit
it directly to the office advertising the job. Participating students
will be eligible for a free raffle; prizes include a bike helmet,
movie passes, and free staff/faculty campus parking for one week.
