Service Projects for National Youth Service Day
Mount Holyoke's community service program, called Creating
Awareness and Unity for Social Equality (CAUSE), is honoring National
Youth Service Day by organizing four community service projects
on April 11 and April 12. CAUSE encourages students to give MHC's
local communities a few hours of time and energy on one of these
days. Contact the project leader if you are interested. On Friday,
April 11, from 1:40 to 4:15 pm, seven to ten students will help
with bingo and enjoy a social hour with the residents of Holyoke
Soldiers' Home (project leader: Madalyn Wong '05,
mwong@mtholyoke.edu). On Saturday, April 12, from 10:30 am to
2:30 pm, five students will do cleaning and dog walking at Dakin
Animal Shelter (project leader: Heather Croshaw '04, hrcrosha@mtholyoke.edu).
Five students will set up and serve lunch at Kate's Kitchen,
from 10:45 am to 1:45 pm (project leader: Sarah White '04,
sewhite@mtholyoke.edu).
Fifteen students will remove non-native invasive plants at Arcadia
Wildlife Sanctuary, from 10:45 to 12:45 pm (project leader: Sarah
Davis '03, sjdavis@mtholyoke.edu).
