On the Right Path Scott Brown, director of Mount Holyoke’s
Career Development Center, has been named one of six Emerging
Scholars by the American College Personnel Association (ACPA),
a national association for student affairs, and has won the only
research grant offered by ACPA’s Commission for Career Development
for his study “Where this Path Might Lead: Understanding
Career Decision-Making for Postcollege Life.” In April,
Brown will deliver the keynote address at the annual conference
of the Virginia Association of Colleges and Employers. In June,
he has been invited to speak at the annual conference of the Southwest
Association of Colleges and Employers in Arlington, Texas. The
April issue of About Campus, a magazine on student learning,
will include Brown’s article “When Words Failed: The
Birth of a Tradition,” based on remarks he made at the class
of 2004 ring ceremony last year. Brown will also speak at the
class of 2005 ring ceremony on April 23.
