Interfaith Blessing and Sending for Seniors Set for April 26

A scene from a previous year's spiritual send-off for the College's Seniors.

Blessings, songs, drumming, and dance will be the order of the day when members of the MHC Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Unitarian Universalist, and Wiccan communities gather on the green in front of Abbey Chapel (Chapin Auditorium in case of rain) Thursday, April 26, at 4 pm to provide a spiritual send-off for the College's seniors. The event, organized and led by members of the College's Multifaith Council, is open to the entire MHC community.

"I sense the excitement building already for our third annual Interfaith Service of Blessing and Sending for Seniors," says Andrea Ayvazian, dean of religious life. "The event will reflect the diversity in the Multifaith Council and the beautiful ways that the different faith groups express their affection for our seniors. It is a moving ceremony with both laughter and tears—a lovely way to say farewell and bless the graduating class."
