of Blanchard to Be Offered May 2

Although it will be
four months before the revitalized Blanchard Campus Center makes
its debut, the community can get a sneak peak at Blanchard's
new and transformed spaces on Friday, May 2, from 11 am to 4 pm.
As at Blanchard's December open house, superintendents with
Shawmut Design and Construction will be positioned throughout
the building to answer questions about progress on renovations
that began last summer. Visitors will receive a commemorative
replica hard hat. "Must-sees" on this tour include
the central atrium, where visitors will find a newly installed
grand staircase, as well as a skylight that brings natural light
into all three levels of the building. On the upper floor, tour
goers will see near-complete offices for the Mount Holyoke
News, the Network, the Student Government Association, and
other student organizations. Other highlights will include close-up
looks at the great room that will house a variety of dining options
and provide space for concerts and dances. Construction will continue
this summer, and all work is expected to be completed for a fall
semester reopening.
