One in a Million This year's fiftieth reunion class has made MHC fundraising history as the first-ever Alumnae Fund million-dollar class. In fact, the class raised around a million and a quarter dollars with 100 percent participation. Elizabeth "Libby" Frolich Bachman '50, Anne Learoyd Sisk '50, and Martha "Marti" Carr Stisser '50 were cochairs of their class's fiftieth reunion. Not ones to save things until the last minute, members of the class of 1950 began thinking about the gift shortly after their fortieth reunion. At that time, about a dozen class of 1950 alumnae each gave $10 to establish an advance gift trust fund. Each year, class members contributed to this special fund, in addition to making annual gifts to the Alumnae Fund. The trust fund grew to $845,000 as of July 1, 1999, the date when the funds were transferred to the Alumnae Fund to form the nucleus of the fiftieth reunion Alumnae Fund gift. No other fiftieth reunion class has had an advance gift trust fund that large.
