The Summer Theatre at Mount Holyoke will open its thirtieth anniversary "celebration season" June 20 with A.R. Gurney's Love Letters, a funny and moving play about the love shared between a man and a woman over a lifetime. Love Letters, which presents the romantic relationship in the form of letters, will continue through June 24. Performances of this year's plays will take place in a new tent featuring air conditioning and new, comfortable seats. The new thrust stage design will position the audience on three sides of the stage. Susan Greenlee Daniels '79, who has been a part of Summer Theatre for eighteen summers, is the theatre's new artistic director.

The other ten shows being performed over the eight-week season are: The Last Night of Ballyhoo (June 27 - July 1), The Real Inspector Hound (July 4 - 8), Senior Circuit (July 11 - July 15), Defying Gravity (July 18 - 22), Sleuth (July 25 - 29), Molly's Delicious (August 1 - 5), and The Fall of the House of Usher (August 8 - 12). The Frog Prince (July 5 - 8), Goldilocks and the Three Bears (July 19 - 22), and Puss in Boots (August 2 - 5) are the productions planned for young audiences this year. Curtain time for all evening performances is 8 pm. Children's performances start at 10 am.

The summer theatre box office opens for walk-in purchases June 7 and will be open Monday-Saturday from noon to 9 pm. The office can be reached by phone at 538-3222.
