What's Up with LITS Media Support
If you need a laptop or a slide projector for a big presentation or are preparing to give a talk in a mediated classroom, one of the first things on your "to do" list should be to contact Library, Information and Technology Services (LITS) for media support. LITS provides support for mediated classrooms, equipment and audiovisual support for College events, circulating equipment (cameras, laptops, projectors) for academic use, a state-of-the-art editing facility, and films and videos for teaching and learning. As part of its continuing efforts to bring the campus the best equipment and services, a small task force of LITS staff, with advice from faculty, worked over the summer to streamline media support services. The following is a brief summary of those changes. For more information, visit www.mtholyoke.edu/lits/media.

Mediated Classroom From its new office in Dwight 201, LITS's Electronic Services unit is responsible for designing, installing, and supporting mediated classroom equipment.
If you have problems or questions, call x3161.

Audiovisual Support for Events LITS has joined forces with the conference and event services office and the registrar's office in utilizing Event Management Systems software for scheduling facilities and providing service. If you are making a reservation through either the conference office or the registrar's office, let them know of your audiovisual service and equipment needs. If you are making a reservation with any other facility scheduler on campus, contact electronic services at av-d@mtholyoke.edu or call x3161.

Circulating Equipment The circulating media equipment has moved to a new office just opposite the circulation desk in Williston Library and is staffed by two new LITS employees, Jake Meginsky and Ben Paul. They are responsible for maintaining the collection of available audiovisual equipment and will be happy to assist you. Contact them at av-d@mtholyoke.edu or x3162.

Editing Facility LITS created a state-of-the-art editing facility in Dwight Hall. If you need training or additional information about the use of Dwight 204, contact Tamra Hjermstad at thjermst@mtholyoke.edu or x3014.

Ordering Films and Videos You can still request videos and films as you did last year. Visit the media Web site at www.mt holyoke.edu/lits/media and click on the link for film/video request.
