Art Exhibition Seeks Participants All staff members are invited
to participate in Art@Work, the first Mount Holyoke staff
art exhibition, to be held December 213 in Kendade Hall.
Original art/craft work in any medium is welcome, but space is
limited. The Art@Work Committee suggests viewing the glass-front
cases in the Kendade atrium (on the ground level and first floor)
and the second-floor wall space to see if these areas will accommodate
your work. Registration forms with more information about the
exhibition have been sent to all staff, and completed forms are
due to Shelley Richard by November 1. If you did not receive a
form, or have questions, contact any of the following staff: Deirdre

Twelve
College Exchange Information Meeting A Twelve College Exchange
information meeting is set for Wednesday, October 23, at 4 pm
in room 101 of Dwight Hall. Students planning to apply to the
exchange for fall 2003, spring 2004, or the 20032004 academic
year should attend this meeting for information on application
procedures, requirements, policies, and deadlines. Application
forms will be available at the meeting or may be picked up in
room 202 in Mary Lyon Hall after October 23. Applications will
not be handed out before the information meeting or on the date
they are due.
Be
a Leader: Join the SAW Staff
The Speaking, Arguing, and Writing Program is hiring assistants
and mentors for next year. Applications are available in the SAW
Program office in room 114 of Porter Hall and at www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/programs/wcl.

is October 25.
Fight
the Flu Health Services will hold its annual flu immunization
clinics for students, faculty, and staff on Friday, October 25,
and Friday, November 1. Flut shots will be by appointment only.
A $10 fee will be charged to cover the cost of this service. The
Health Center will be appropriately staffed to accommodate the
community in a timely manner. To schedule an appointment, call

Physical Education Classes to Start Second-half physical education
classes begin on October 28 and 29. Activity begins on the first
day.
Space
Still Available in Physical Education Activity Seminar Physical
Education Activity Seminar (PE100), which is open to first-year
students only, begins October 28, and activity will begin on the
first day. Spots are still available. Interested students should
come to the first class in Kendall Hall on October 28. For more

Funding for French Students Students taking French courses
during 20022003 may apply for small grants through the French
department's Sylvia Sherk Hubbell '39 Memorial Fund.
Categories for possible funding are the following: support for
independent research and theses; purchase of books and French-related
materials (need-based); internship support; and junior year abroad
expenses for cultural activities (theater, movies, museums, excursions,
concerts) for Laurel Fellowship recipients. Application forms
are available in the French department office. There are two application
deadlines: November 4 and March 13.
